Hello everybody,
I have a Truenas install under VMWare workstation. Recently I upgraded it from version Truenas Core 12 to version 13 from Web.
System is working but times to times on the console are displayed the atached screeenshot.
In version 12 they wore not showing.
Any clue would be really helpful.
thanks

The dooddad is failing to accept input from the whatsit and thus causing a whojamaflip event to occur. The solution is to realign the warp core

Or you could try posting your hardware so we have some idea of what you are dealing with

Hello NugentS,
Thanks very much for your reply. This is a virtualized Nas on VMware resided on a SSD 1TB.
The hardware itself it is a Intel NUC with Windows 11.
Can you suggest on what steps to follow or can you tell from what are these messages comming out?
Best regards,
Enkli

You cannot run TrueNAS on VMware workstation. You must use ESXi and PCIe pass through for your HBA.

Yes I understand that. But previously on version 12 there were not such messages.
what might cause that and is there any workaround?

Change the virtual disk type from NVMe to something different. Using virtual disks for storage bears a known high risk of data loss. Just saying ...

@Davvo. thanks. I have upgraded that to Freebsd 12 an later it is only the name...
@ Patrick you think just converting from NVMe0 would remove those warnings? In Truenas core was the same setup and no warnings at all for more than 1 year.

Yes. That means
- check if there are updates for your VMware Workstation version
- check if you can upgrade your virtual machine version
- check if you can set the guest OS type to something more appropriate

@eylli Nobody can tell if changing any of the settings will help with those messages. Only thing that is known is that your setup is completely unsupported, worked in the past by sheer luck/accident and is likely to break any time with the potential for data loss. I hope this is a test and development environment and not in any way productive.

I would like to stress the importance of this warning. Just because there are no warnings it doesn't mean everything is working as intended.
