Volume status unknown?

I've been running a FreeNAS 8 nightly for a couple of weeks now, with a single 750GB drive in a UFS volume. Everything seems to be working well, except that the web GUI is giving me a yellow warning (in the upper right corner). When I click on it, it pops up an error: "WARNING: The volume testserver (UFS) status is UNKNOWN".

I've seen another thread asking about this, but I didn't see any answers--is this a problem? If so, what can I do to resolve it?

Poking around on my system a bit more, I noticed that the SMART service hadn't been turned on, so I did so. Doesn't seem to have had any effect, though.
