volume not showing up in gui but command line. If I do a zpool list I get
[root@muk-backuprep] ~# zpool list
NAME SIZE ALLOC FREE EXPANDSZ FRAG CAP DEDUP HEALTH ALTROOT
freenas-boot 15.9G 652M 15.2G - - 4% 1.00x ONLINE -
muk-backuprep 2.69T 1.17T 1.52T - 28% 43% 1.00x ONLINE /mnt

But when I go to storage --> volumes in gui I don't see my volume. If I try to create one in don't even get /mnt to pick from

A lot more detail would be helpful. But if the pool is imported but not visible in the GUI, you should be able to export it ( zpool export muk-backuprep) and then import it in the GUI using Storage -> Import Volume.
