You need to find out what is causing this. Is it always the same drive? It does sound like an actual hardware fault, as your current setup should be completely compatible with FreeNAS. As with your previous problem, finding out whether it is always the same drive is important to narrow it down.

Ofcourse I have to.
But how ? that is the question.
What tools/strategies do I have in freenas ? Is there any guide for troubleshooting potential harddrives issues ?

you dont happen to know the difference between the IBM ServeRAID M1015 46M0831 and the IBM ServeRAID M1015 90Y4556 ?
Never saw the added designation. Maybe an SKU identifier?

You say a drive in your first pool "goes faulty from time to time". When this happens, make a note of the serial number, or the ID number FreeNAS identifies it by. If it is always the same drive you could move it to a different port and cable and see whether the same or different drive that has the next error. If it is not always the same drive a similar but different swap round might help. Can you remind us which ports you are using for your first pool, I can't find it explicitly in the thread.

A final update on this issue.
I acquired an IBM ServeRAID M1015 card and subtituted the previous SATA Card after flashing the M1015 into IT mode.
I even upgraded my second pool from Radiz2 to Raidz3, by destroying it completly and building a new zpool. Luckily the data wasnt that big so it could have been stored on the first zpool (this wouldnt have worked if i had to to this now, much more data)
Anyway. the problems with the disks dissapearing are gone now for good. It was the Card the was the reason for this issue.
Problem solved, thanks guys :)
