I have an appliance which is installed from an ISO. The appliance is linux based. I went ahead and set it up VM and gave it an IP address. I am able to ping the IP from my laptop. When I attempt to browse to the same IP address via a browser, I am prompted with the TrueScale login page, not the appliance's portal. Is there something I need to do to get all traffic destined to the VM's IP to go to the VM?

Depending on how the VM is setup, if it is setup as a NAT with SCALE as the gateway, you will need to specify the port it's bound to in the URL because the default 80 and 443 are reserved by TrueNAS web admin.

I want all traffic from the VM's IP to go to the VM not to TrueNas. What option will allow me to do this?

How did you setup the VM? Maybe provide some screenshots so we can see how the network is setup.

Sounds like they share the same IP address. But, if you have a port conflict, change one of the ports. If you want your VM's website to function on 80/443 then change the TrueNAS port config, or the same for other way around. I run port 65080/65443 on my TrueNAS webUI. If they share the same IP and you want both to be accessible from the standard ports 80/443 you will need a reverse proxy, which in turn still requires them to be on different ports, but you can access them without adding the port numbers to the address.
I think I am misunderstanding the situation though. You may be running into a virtualization networking problem and need a bridge. Please provide more info on the IP address of the VM, and the network & VM configs from TrueNAS.
