Hi Guys,

I have been running a VM with Ubuntu 18.04.1LTS without issue for months. Recently I had the need to reset some setting on Freenas to default with the cli on the box.

I imported all the storage pools etc without issue. I also imported my VM. I didn't update any of the base software.

I have MySQL running in Ubuntu and was having issues connecting. When I look at the VM network setup I see that it keeps changing Mac address so it is constantly being assigned a new IP. I tried setting a static IP in 'interfaces' but I cant access MySQL. I can connect when attempting via the DHCP IP. I tried setting the mac via Freenas but Ubuntu ignored it. I also set the NIC device order to 1000.

Currently my VM Settings have: Mac Address (00:a0:98:60:8d:0a) but Ubuntu has (00:A0:98:7F:3F:8B). This is after rebooting the VM.

I'm running out of ideas on what to try next or what the issue might be. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Set that MAC address on the properties of the NIC in the VM devices and it will stay.
