Hello,
I have been testing VMs in Freenas and I got up to a point which I am a little bit tired of this hypervisor, the last thing I noticed is that if I configure a NIC with a lagg inside in a VM when I start the VM, all the system stops like 5 seconds until the system brings the VM up, which makes my samba dataset stop and not working until the VM is up, in the case I am copying a file, the file transfer just drops to 0kbps or if I am watching a movie or listenning to music it just stops.
Here is the image that freenas prompts while the VM is starting:
In case I configure a NIC without a lagg inside, it seems like the VM starts instantly and nothing is affected.
Does anyone have any idea about this?
Now that I am writing here wanted to say a few more things. I can not understand why freenas team recommend to install freenas as the main OS, when the jails are so limited in terms of installing freebsd (OS that I currently do not like), do not understand why not using openvz or LXC, which at my point of view is much better.
And the VM works so horribly for example with this problem and also by installing the last releases for example of ubuntu, which is not capable of. Apart of the limited config options that the hypervisor have.
Kind regards
