Hello , Having NFS issues with VM's
If i showmount or rpcinfo from external i can see the mounts and services , however if i run the same commands on a vm i see nothing.
Truenas has a bridge interface and the Vm's are attached to the same bridge.
I can ping the truenas server and even see port 111 open but nothing

Everything is default and i can mount the volume on a different host
any thoughts

Cheers

So it seems like you VM is the issue, is it running iptables/ufw or any other sort of firewall that would be blocking the connection? Does dmesg or any other log show anything relevant on either the host of VM? Does it just timeout when you try a manual mount in the VM?

I was using NFS the same way you had it setup and had no issues. My VM is running Arch so it doesn't have anything like iptables/ufw/apparmor/selinux running which might block the connection.

OK you win , re-install of Almalinx 8 and it now wants to work.
I sense that it has to have been a bad install :(

Thanks

I ended up doing a tcpdump to see the showmount sending the traffic but saw nothing , that was my clue
