Hello, I have a folder with permissions 770 that I would like to share to a virtualbox guest! I tried a lot of combinations, and I can't seem to be able to share it and access it without adding "other" permissions!

I created and added the group of the share to the vbox user on the jail (same gid), I added vboxsf to the user in the guest vbox, nothing works! I'm able to mount the share and enter the folder, but when I make a "ls" command, I get a no permission error. I would like to keep this folder locked to "Other".

Can any one help me?
Thank you
Best Regards

It's likely because the storage in the jail is a loopback file system. You're better off sharing it from FreeNAS via NFS and mount it from within the virtual machine.

I think you are right, probably a share is the best approach! I was trying to solve this the right way, but I'm stuck!

Thank you
