VGA Connector Issues

Afternoon all ... my main server has VGA connection issues. I have to actively push the connector down (towards the motherboard) to get my monitor to register a VGA connection. It loses a connection if I let it go.

Motherboard ..... Supermicro X11SSL-CF-O

Thoughts? And ... yes, I know this can run headless ... but I like the ability for it to have a head :)

Can I throw in a cheapo GPU and use that VGA connection? If I do, do I need to tell the motherboard about the GPU card?

The motherboard manual details how to identify the primary graphics adaptor: "Onboard" or by adaptor slot.

Why not just use the IPMI?
