Alright trying to move off a VM in ESXi running via NFS from FreeNAS. Jails seem like the way to go with the ability to access FS "freely". I figured for some of the things listed in plugins, I might as well stick to the provide jails since I assume I'll get updates and such through FreeNAS and not have to deal with managing the jail for the most part. However, when I try to install a plugin I get "/var/db/pkg permissions (0755) too lax." is this talking about from within the jail or the host? If it's from within the jail, is there anything I can do?

edit:

Is it possible my "default permissions" playing a part in this? I can't remember where/what level that is set at or what I have it to.
Code:
# stat /
619644811 4 drwxrwxr-x 18 (1000) (1000) 4294967295 22 "Nov 6 08:32:29 2018" "Aug 5 10:18:48 2018" "Sep 17 09:02:04 2018" "Aug 5 10:18:27 2018" 4096 17 0x800 /

Deleted my iocage volume set (after disabling it, rebooting, then renabling it and rebooting) and that seemed to fix it. Going to guess that time I had to reset the permissions on the pool (user, group, attributes) messed things up. Does FreeNAS not change the permissions as to "not mess with your data" or would this be a bug/oversight?
