Using RAID controller as non-RAID SCSI controller

I am looking at getting several SRCU42E raid controllers but am wondering if its possible to use a RAID controller just as an SCSI controller, allowing freeNAS to do the RaidZ instead. What feature/option would I look for that allows this?

Looking at SRCU42E Specs it does support JBOD.

So yes, if htat is true, just configure it as JBOD and let ZFS handle the raid.
