Hello;

I am installing for the first time the FreeNas 9.3 version.

I have two computers:
Computer A: Many folders and archives shared.
Computer B: Installed FreeNas 9.3

I want to copy all the shared content from ComputerA to ComputerB, periodically each day of the week and I want differents copies. For example, one copy for Mondays, another for Tuesday.... until Friday. At the end of the week It should be 5 different copies.

My questions:

1º Could I schedule 5 differents task to have 5 differents copies? Or is possible to do this with only one task.

2º FreeNas is able to perform this task for capturing the information (folders and files from ComputerA)? Or ComputerA has to generate the task for the backup?

Rsync or any number of applications out there will handle this.

You never stated what OS on computer A

As @pirateghost suggests, there are numerous ways to do this. The best of them probably involve rsync from the FreeNAS side. You can also push from Computer A, using CIFS, NFS, FTP, etc., as needed.
