How long do these helium drives last before the helium escapes? Does SMART give enough warning in advance?
My oldest HDD still running 24/7 is ST340015A (40GB PATA) - currently 164722 power-on hours (yes, over 18 years).

@marekm, just use forum search for helium. SMART will report helium level in the drives, and most drives still report 100% after 5 years, which is when data centers swap them out.
