Usb With Freenas Died Is all lost?

The flash drive that i use for my freeNas build died on me. Is there a way i can just redo the flash and re-import my drives with data?

Yes, just install FreeNAS to a new flash drive and Auto Import the pools. If you did backup your config before you can also easily upload it back (http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Settings#General_Tab).

Yes you can.

Your data should be intact, but you'll need to reconfigure the settings (unless you have a backup copy that you can restore).

Depending on the issue with the old flash drive, you might be able to mount it to a working installation and grab the configuration file from here: /data/freenas-v1.db

Also worth a try. /data is the fourth partition on the USB stick, so you need to mount that and the file should be in the "root" of the partition.

If you saved a copy of your config, it's as simply as loading one of the .xz files to a bootable flash drive, and then going into the console and uploading the config.

That step-to-step guide would be completely dependent on how you actually configured your FreeNAS. It would basically come down to

1. Install FreeNAS
2.- Auto-import volumes
2. Reconfigure everything how you did it.
