Question:
What could be the reason that I have 238.7mb/s in download but only 98.15mb in upload? The server is plugged direct to the router via a cat 7 cable.

Use case likely matters. Ie. Are you reading and writing the same types/sizes of files? For example, most NAS’ performance is reduced by smaller files.

I’d expect slower writes than reads - the former requires checksums, parity writes, etc overhead while the latter is a straight read from the source.

I tested it by streaming from jellyfin.

Do you think that the Realtek chipset on the motherboard is the bottleneck?

I don’t have experience with your Realtek chipset, but folk in general are unhappy with Realtek and recommend alternatives. That said, I doubt the chipset is at fault here, I suspect it’s read vs. write but I’d prefer if someone with experience in Jellyfin could pipe up and confirm that for you. Sorry!
