Upgrading from 7 - questions about volumes

I'm upgrading from Freenas 7. I'd like to create volumes the same as what I had in the previous setup. What I had was 8 separate discs/volumes/shares all on ufs formatted discs. I've discovered the import volume option. However, is there a way for me to know which disc belonged to which previous volume? I have a list of the serial numbers and the drive designations (ad16) from my previous setup. It would be helpful for me to know what the new designations are before I start importing my discs into the new system.
