After upgrading to 9.3 I've been battling a couple of issues, network is unstable and my previously working plugins will not start. Below is a sample of /var/log/messages I've done some goggling and still coming up empty.

Dec 22 21:11:57 freenas manage.py: [plugins.utils:92] Couldn't retrieve http://192.168.1.10/plugins/sickbeard/5/_s/status: No JSON object could be decoded

Update: I'm unable to ping any of the jails from the console

Disabling VIMAGE on the Jails resolved the network issue, still unable to start the plugins.

You need to post your hardware configuration before anyone can help you. Read the forum stickies for guidelines about this.

Did you change anything with the jails after the upgrade?

Just signed up so I can contribute to this topic as it looks like I am/was in the same boat. It appears to have to do with the firewall ruleset. I'm guessing you have a ipfw list in place? For whatever reason, it looks like my internal network rules weren't working.

I had this but I was still seeing UDP deny's within the subnet:
01006 allow ip from 192.168.1.0/24 to 196.168.1.0/24 keep-state

I added rules for TCP/UDP and it seems to have worked:

01012 allow tcp from 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.1.0/24 keep-state
01014 allow udp from 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.1.0/24 keep-state

No more error messages regarding the JSON object and my transmission plugin starts without issue. Hope that helps.

I was able to resolve this issue by removing VIMAGE from my plugin jails. It resolved the issue and returned responsiveness to my UI.
I have a fresh install of 9.10.1. Only one plugin was having the error. Restarted after settings change.
Thanks
