Upgraded from 8.0.4 RP1 to 8.2.0: now email failure "No route to host"

I had everything working with email to my gmail account. Root email set. outgoing server set. port 465. SSL. I just upgraded to to 8.2.0 and the email is now broken "no route to host."

I have checked google and old forums but am at a loss.

I believe it's a known issue, I've seen several complaints about it here recently. Did you also search the ticket system: support.freenas.org ?? Sometimes looking at tickets, even closed ones, can give you a clue there's a problem.

Sometimes searching the forums using google instead of the forums search features gives better results, like this for example:

email "no route to host" site:forums.freenas.org

I understand the way things get fixed and break again with FreeNAS can be quite frustrating sometimes. ;)

I did my level NOOB best but without success.
