Upgrade from 1xMirror (16TB) to Raid Setup

Hi All,

I currently have 2 x Seagate EXOs 16TB in a single mirror VDEV that I would like to upgrade with an additional 2 x 16TB drives. However, would prefer to move away from mirroring and move across to a Raid-Z1 setup with redundancy of 1/4 drives.

What is the best way to do this wihtout losing all my data?

Does Z1 provide me with ability to upgrade to Z2 in future if I add more drives?

If you want to go from mirrors to raidz you'd need to backup your data, destroy your pool, rebuild it in whatever raidz you want and then restore from backup.
However raidz1 is not recommended for drives >4TB, due to the increased risk of drive failure during resilvering.
Raidz2 would be the recommended layout.
You can also not change from raidz1 to raidz2 without doing the same steps you need to take to go from mirror to raidz1.
If you can, just buy one additional drive and go straight to raidz2.
