Happend here (on a Microserver) while upgrading to 9.10. You got any hints how to fix it yet? (Sorry for bumping an old thread)

I had the same issue when upgrading from 9.3.x to 9.3.x on a HP Microserver.

My quickest solution was to "upgrade" freenas onto the broken one. Freenas will keep the settings and it didn't take long to do so.

For clarification: You just install freenas onto your install medium again. The installer will preserve the settings. Don't forget to make a backup before you do it (if you care enough about your settings)
