Had a strange problem during an TrueNasUI update for 12.0-u8, which became degraded upon boot-up. I pulled the drive and tested it using the HardDiskSentinel app on a W10 PC and it said was 100% healthy with no bad sectors. Re-installed, did a zpool replace and still was degraded. There was some log messages of a script error.
Did a HardDiskSentinel surface test that writes to each sectot on the 4TB HD and it took 8hrs. No bad sectors and 100% health. The HD's S.M.A.R.T. was perfect all green
Re-installed the HD, did a zpool offline -> replace and it worked.
Last night did a zpool scrub and woke up this morning and everything is still ok.
What happened?
