Please post a copy of /var/log/messages as well as your hardware specs.

I sanitized the log but this includes the issue. Spam starts on line 200 of the file and continues for the duration.

Hardware:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1620 v2 @ 3.70GHz
Supermicro X9SRL-F-O LGA2011/ Intel C602/ DDR3/ SATA3/ V&2GbE/ ATX Server Motherboard, Retail
12 HGST 3TB NAS drives 7200 RPM
128GB RAM - Brand ???
LSI 92XX (2308 flashed to IT mode P20)

All of this is running ESXi with 64GB, 2CPU's passed to freenas and I/O Passthrough of the LSI SAS and an onboard controller.

Well I installed freenas 9.10 from scratch on another VM, no issues. I then backed the config and restored. It's happy now. Certainly a bug in there somewhere as it's the same hardware config. Interestingly in my quest I also installed from scratch, restored, and then restored to factory and had the same issue.

Glad to hear that you were able to sort it. Please let us know if the issue resurfaces when you upgrade to 11.

Please create a bug report at bugs.freenas.org that includes your system debug (System -> Advanced -> Save Debug) and post the issue number here. Note that the bug will be hidden from others until the dev has a chance to review your debug.

I'll create an issue next week (when I can power of my VM running my NAS to boot the other that still exhibits the issue).
