Got this critical alert: Device: /dev/ada1, unable to open device

ada1 disk was used as a jail disk until a SSD was installed and the jails moved to that disk. I just kept ada1 in the system instead of removing it. I'd like to remove it now. Do I just shutdown freenas, remove the ada1 disk and then power-on the freenas server? Or is there some other instructions I should follow?

Thanks!

Make absolutely sure there is nothing using the disk. If it's a member of any vdev, it will need to be replaced otherwise your pool will enter a degraded state. If it's an independent disk, simply destroy the pool and then you may remove the device.
