I am trying to backup my plex data which I was able to do on prior versions, but I am currently receiving errors when trying my currant version (Core 13 U5). I am not sure if something has changed in truenas, or if I changed something in error. I know it has to be something simple I am just overlooking, but I cant for the life of me figure out what it is. I have tried to copy and move the DB folder via shell in the GUI, ssh (windows and linux), and sftp on windows. I also tried to Rsync to a test bench I installed truenas on. I tried as the owner of the folder and as a member of the same group as the folder. If anyone can point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it.

Via the shell I just a "Input/output error"
Via sftp, I get the following error:
General failure (server should provide error description).
Error code: 4
Error message from server: Failure

Sounds like something is terribly wrong with it and not a simple permissions error or any software error really. It sounds more like there is something wrong with your hardware.

I'd try to see if there's something worth noting on dmesg and also zpool status

Looks like you are correct. "zpool status" showed 10 errors on the pool in question (no errors on the other pools). And all the errors were related to the files I was trying to backup that have permanent errors. There was also an alert triggered in the GUI today for this pool saying "One or more devices has experienced an error resulting in data corruption. Applications may be affected." Also had an alert for core files being found, already submitted the ticket for that (not sure if its related).

Only thing I can see under dmesg other than a link going up and down (recent reboot) is
mpr0: mpr_user_pass_thru: user reply buffer (64) smaller than returned buffer (68)

I am not sure how far back the issue goes, since the damaged files still seem to be working with plex. They are the database files i was trying to use to transfer the plex install to a test bench i will be using for truenas scale. Hope this can be fixed with a snapshot I have of that pool, or I can find a way to make a new backup through plex. Would like to see if i can repair the files, but all the guides i was able to find were for windows.

Confirmed the issue was caused by curopted files. I was able to clone a few snapshots and was able to move the files I needed. I'm going to wipe the pool and start fresh with backups of the database files i was able to recover. Luckily, the pool only contains the jails. Appreciate the insight in looking at pool status.

Great you figured it out! I'd probably try to figure out why you got those corruptions. The usual culprits are bad cables, HBA, drives, RAM.

Thanks for that, I will definitely look into that.
