I'm attempting to mount a SMB share as a user who is a member of the group that owns the share. I keep getting Permission denied trying to mount the share on Mac and Linux clients and I'm not sure why. I suspect I just have a misconception of how SMB permissions work.

I have am attempting to mount the SMB share as a user who is a member of the group "video_users". I would like the group to have read only access.
These are the filesystem ACL permissions on my share-

It seems like this should me straight forward but I'm still unable to mount the share. Where am I going wrong?

For the record- I found my issue. I wasn't noticing the smb username character limit so I was attempting to auth with the non-truncated username. It's always the little details.
