I just upgraded from freenas 11.3 to Truenas 12. Prior to going to TrueNAS, i would map my network drives on my client using root as the user.
Once upgraded, i can no longer do this.. is this a "feature" of TrueNAS? or am i doing something incorrectly?
I was able to create a user to map the drive.. but using root does not work.

Thanks

This is in the release notes, and is by design. Root can no longer be used to authenticate to SMB shares.
