Unable to automatically update FreeNas 11.3 U2 > TrueNas 12.0 / Documentation Question

Hello,

I am attempting to update FreeNas 11.3 U2 to TrueNas Core current release and am running into some issues. Firstly, the device isn't connected to the internet, and unfortunately can't be connected to the internet due to access policies. So I can't automatically update the system by switching update trains.

I was curious if there is documentation available for doing a manual upgrade from Freenas 11.3 U2 to TrueNas Core release, or if it is as simple as just downloading the tar, of the current stable release and putting it in when I select manual upgrade, or if it is recommended that I upgrade to 11.3 U6 before hand.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be really helpful.

I also have already backed up the current configuration set in case anything goes wrong.

You'll probably need to first get to the last 11.3 update, which you can do with the manual update file:

https://download.freenas.org/11.3/STABLE/U5/FreeNAS-11.3-U5-manual-update.tar

You would then apply that file under System | Update | Install Manual Update File

You can navigate around the downloads site (https://download.freenas.org/) by version and find a similar manual update file for other versions as you go.

Cool, after this I should be able to just download the truenas core stable, throw it in and try yeah?

Latest 11 to 12 upgrade should be fine.
