This will apparently be released with Scale 23.10: https://github.com/truenas/webui/pull/7667

Do features in the web UI generally make their way to Core after a bit or is it a totally seperate project?
If it eventually does, what’s the easiest way for me to keep track of whether it’s available in Core? (I.e. randomly checking the UI regularly is awkward  )

Middleware/UI fixes generally land in both unless it's specific to one branch (eg: you won't find an Apps-related fix in SCALE) but if the timeout value is critical to you there is an (unofficial) way to adjust it in a pull request:

Thanks! I’d actually seen that already, was hoping for something that doesn’t make me go ”What was that workaround again?” a year from now.

Also, while I got logged out after a pretty short time like 3-4 times, I haven’t experienced it since. Maybe because I ran this command that’s based in the comment you linked to: https://tomschlick.com/extend-truenas-web-ui-session-timeout/
Strange thing is that I still got a timeout shortly after running it, so I assumed it doesn’t work any more with the current version.
Maybe it does after all…
