UFW, and fail2ban assistance

Hello fair people of the truenas scale forums.

as the title says i am trying to get ufw and fail2ban installed on my truenas scale server.

everything i search for is telling me to use a jail to install these programs. and i just want to install them from the command line to stop who ever is attacking my server.

is it even possible to run a "apt install" like command in truenas scale?

No idea, it should not be is the issue. the ssh attempts are comming from my wifes computer which is windows. it's the only windows computer in the house :\

Then you need to figure out what malware (or network "security" tool, which is probably the more likely situation) is on her computer, and either disable it or decide you can live with it. In the meantime, SSH is pretty well hardened as long as you configure it to require public-key authentication. You can set it to listen on a different port if you like, but that really isn't necessary.
