I created a FreeNAS box about 6 weeks ago, using 2 x 1Tb drives (brand new) in a RAID1 formatted as UFS. Everything worked great until I recently went to the mgmt console and an alert said my /mnt/vol1 was DEGRADED. I cannot find any information on what this means! I enabled S.M.A.R.T. tests on the disks, but have not gotten any alerts, and I also ran "fsck /dv/mnt/vol1" from the console, and it did not return any error conditions. I can mount, read, and write to shares, and nothing is missing and it all seems to work fine. So what am i supposed to do about the "DEGRADED" alert? I can't even figure out if it is a software or hardware issue. What gives?

Sounds like it thinks one of the disks is having a problem. I have nothing specific for you because I've only been using ZFS with FreeNAS, but I did want to mention that you might want to back up any important data off the afflicted filesystem.
