Try re-applying the ACL on Bigdata, but check the boxes for Apply User and Apply Group.

Hello again Samuel

May I pick your brains on what might be happening here if you have a moment? Abit more info:

 • I am able to connect to the GUI in my internet explorer
 • I've got function discovery provider host service and function discovery provider host enabled
 • I've set a static IP (still can't connect to the internet but I'm more keen to access the drives at this point)
 • I've tried enabling and disabling SMB1 settings in the control panel (currently have them enabled)
 • I've followed multiple tutorials about setting up users/groups/pools/SMB shares/permissions
 • I am constantly either met with error code 0x80004005, or you don't have permission to access the share
 • @winnielinnie and @Whattteva have been very helpful but I am still doing something wrong
 • I might have considered abandoning ship at some point but the trouble is this was working for about a week and I have a lot of important files on there. I am unable to plug the drives into my windows computer because they are ZFS

Is there any code I can run in shell that would give some good information about whats going wrong?

This is the only thing I can actually see in windows, but no browseable drives available

Any advice is greatly appreciated

@Aotearoaboi: It's hard to follow along. Rather than fully trying one thing at a time, you're attempting multiple things at once and even getting sidetracked or going off on another tangent. I'm not even sure what you've tried yet.

At this stage, I still don't even know if you can access the share from another client or operating system. Sometimes people, such as myself, want to "rule something out" to eliminate it. (To get it out of the way.)

For example, if you can access the shares and files with another client or OS, then it hints to an issue around your Windows client/configuration.

Hello again

I tried on my friends computer as well as on POP_OS. For some reason POP did not launch. I had alot of trouble with it and eventually gave up. My flatmates computer, it worked instantly. I did a factory reset of my windows and now there is zero issues. I apologise for putting you through all this.

I still have the issue of the NAS not connecting to the internet, if you can recommend any reading or videos on that, that would be awesome. This is what i get when i attempt to install plex
