Hmm, I guess running something deleted /base/etc/fstab.serviio file. It didn't happened until I was configuring the jail via the packages, etc though, wonder how that affected the FreeNAS install?

fstab.serviio basically contains the same info as creating a mount point from the GUI. You can create any mountpoints you want for a jail, they don't have to be associated with a plugin. So if you remember the source and destination you had, just create a new mountpoint in the GUI and forget about fstab.serviio.

I'm going to send you a PM in a minute. Check it when you have a chance.

I had a backup of my fstab.serviio & simply restored it. It worked after that. I'm not sure how it got deleted though as most of what I was working on was IN THE JAIL, so how did /base get fiddled with? Anyhoo. I want to move to the PBI/plugin jail setup vs the manual that I'm still running, but wanted to make sure I won't lose anything first.

I'm hunting for a way to allow FreeNAS to be a tv tuner server & came across this thread.

Out of curiosity, is there a plugin for 8.2 that can receive DVB through a tuner card & then stream tv to a windows 7 client?

Thanks
:)

LMAO, I've not gotten back to this because shortly after, I got laid off. Then I got super serious about a personal web development project. I've been trying to get AMP installed/running on my now PBI jail. I'm dealing with the same error as I was before & this thread came up in a search on the web:

Code:
pkgconf-0.8.9 conflicts with installed package(s): pkg-config-0.25_1

This thread seems to have a pretty thorough answer for me:

UPDATE:
following the instructions in that thread, I was able to get PHP5 installed. Now I wonder if I can't MythTV working too because of it! ;)

Did Proto fall off the face of the earth? His blog is completely blank! :(

protosd took down his (excellent) blog/faq. It's a shame really as I read it front to back before I built my first FreeNAS server and I wish other noobs had it to refer to.
