Hello, maybe its a simple problem but I am a newbie to Truenas. I use Truenas as a home NAS and planned to backup to external drives that I rotate and take offsite periodically. The simplest and most convenient way to this for me would be to connect the external drive to my home router and set up a cloud sync task copy from Truenas to the drive shared via FTP by my router.

Cloud credential verified. Dry run says success.

However, when I actually run the task the log says for each file:

<3>ERROR : /Path/To/Some/File: Failed to copy: update stor: 550 /Path/To/Some/File: Operation not permitted

I am not sure whats wrong and if something is wrong then why dry-run wont tell me... Any help would be much apprechiated, thanks!

Permissions I imagine. Looks like you can connect but not write to the external drive.
What happens if you a manual ftp connection to the router?

Thanks, I found that for some reason the user did not have write access to the ftp root but only in subdirectories. Its a fault of TP-Link though, not TrueNAS.
