I recently realized my latest router Netgear Nighthawk CXA80 has a 2.5Gbps Ethernet Port. I purchased a MikroTik CRS310 2.5/10 Gigabit switch. I'm building a Truenas server based around a SuperMicro X11SSM-F.

Question 1: Should I purchase a Pcie 2.5gbs nic for the X11SSM-F?

Question 2: I have some old 2tb wd reds laying around collecting dust. I'm going to take four of those and make a Raidz1. Then I bought four 18tb cheapy amazon nas hardrives to make a second Raidz1. Is this configuration acceptable for a home server?

Thank you

Lookup the model number on the drives. If the drives are smr drives I would throw them away. SMR type drives are not suitable for Truenas and you will likely end up losing your data.
