Hey guys,
anyone here with Scale experience on the Intel I5 1235 CPU? I backed over at kickstarter the Storaxa Nas device and that can be upgraded to either Ryzen 5825U or Intel 1235. I would go with the Intel version but read some topics regarding the unsupported big.little architecture so i wanted to make sure that i make the right choice. My use case would be mainly storage but i'll also install some Docker containers / VMs for general software development.
Thanks a lot ;-)

Looking at the Intel CPU options, they are all designed for low power. That might work out fine for you, just warning you:
  • Intel Pentium Silver N6005 laptop - 10 watts
  • Intel I5 1235 CPU embedded - 15 / 28 watts
  • Intel I7 1265 CPU embedded - 15 / 28 watts
The last 2 even seem to have a typo in the E verses P core count when viewed at Intel ARK. The I5 seems more powerful than the I7.

As for your question about the asymmetric cores, I don't know. Perhaps someone else can help.

Edit: And I am not sure I would trust them too much, as they have some odd wording;
Two 10GbE Gen 3x2
I would have assumed "10GbE" to be Ethernet, so what does "Gen 3x2" mean in this context?
The wording "Gen 3x2" would seem to imply USB... so contradictory.
