Hi, i need node_exporter on my TrueNAS-Scale machine. I have set this up and it works perfectly fine.
After a reboot from the TrueNAS-Machine, the node_exporter doesn't start due to the user "node_exporter" not existing.

After some troubleshooting i found out that TrueNAS-Scale removes the manually added user "node_exporter" in the group "node_exporter".

Can i prevent TrueNAS from doing that?

I also found out that TrueNAS-Scale supports graphite-exporter, but i didn't find out how to install that not using a container.

No. TrueNAS is an appliance operating system, and you are expected not to be tinkering under the hood. If you cannot make the change from the webGUI, it is not going to survive long. Many system files are regenerated at system startup, from the configuration database. Those that are not are still likely to be overwritten at the next firmware version update.

You might be able to create your user through the webGUI though. I don't know enough about your node-exporter thingy to know if that's a viable option.
