Truenas Scale Backup App

I need to pull backups from an Isilon San and Hitachi San both expose the data over smb/cifs. I had planned on mounting the share read only and then using rsync to backup. But for some reason rsync will not work with Windows Permission. Next thought would be to setup backuppc(https://backuppc.github.io/backuppc/) as an app on the server but have no clue on how to do it. last resort would be setup a windows machine as virtual machine and run robocopy on it). Why is there no simple backup app? or am i missing it.

backuppc is in the truecharts incubator train. maybe take a look at that

TrueNAS Scale has Replication, CloudSync and RSync built in for backing up.

As LarsR noted, there are several backup, sync type applications that can easily be added. See truecharts.com
