Hello,
I tried to set up OpenVPN on TrueNas Scale, for this, I followed the followings tutorials: Github, Reddit, Youtube
I am a beginner, I am discovering TrueNas at the same time.

So I followed the tutorials, and I wanted to test if it worked:
  • When I am on my local network, I can connect to my VPN.
  • When I am on an external network, it is impossible to connect to the VPN.
I have tested all these methods. But always with the same result.
I don't understand where my mistake is. A lot of people seem to have difficulties setting up this VPN
  • I can't find any solution, is there a missing configuration?
  • Is it necessary to set the internet box?
  • Is there another way to do it?

Thank you for your answers

Your service needs to be exposed to the internet to do this on your home router you need to open and forward a new port to the VPN. To find out how to do this, you need to see the manual with the firmware that comes with your router

You need to give us more information. Help us help YOU. Saying something along the line of "it doesn't work" is not very informative to us to help you troubleshoot anything. Instead, post your OpenVPN logs while it's connecting and that would be a lot more helpful.
