Truenas Mini X+ platform shows generic after bios upgrade

Hello,

I recently upgraded the firmware on my mini x+ supermicro motherboard, the system still shows the same information on the hardware info screen via the management interface. The truenas dashboard now shows the platform as generic, instead of the proper truenas mini system. This isn't really a big issue, just more curiosity than anything else.

Is there a way to get proper identification back?

Thanks!

You have to contact iXsystems Support to get a bios firmware with the appropriate vendor/product strings, so that TrueNAS Software can recognize it as a genuine TrueNAS Mini.

Did you get a new firmware from iXsystems?

I did, but it did not solve the problem. When updating the bios if you don't preserve smbios the only way to get the vendor strings back would be to re populate them, and I did not copy them down first. However, after inspecting the truenas ui on the git repo, all its looking for is to match the name returned when it queries the vendor/model. I believe supermicro offers a cli tool to update these, so its certainly possible to get the functionality back with this info.
