Today I have 2 servers, an i7-4790k with 32GB of ram, running Truenas + docker and 20 containers.
And another machine is an i7-3770 with 16GB of ram, running XCP-ng, running 4 VMs.
Here where I live, the price of energy is very high, I’m thinking about putting XCP-ng on the i7-4790k and running Truenas as a VM with 16GB, passing the disks directly to the Truenas VM via PCI passthrough.
What do you think of this, will I regret it?
Or is it worth trying?
