I have TrueNAS installed as a VM in my VSphere environment.
OS Version:
TrueNAS-12.0-U3.1
Model:
VMware Virtual Platform
Memory:
8 GiB

When I try to connect to my AD I eventually get an info message stating "Active Directory Status: Faulted"
I can ping my AD from the shell but when I run wbinfo it fails

root@truenas[~]# wbinfo -t
could not obtain winbind interface details: WBC_ERR_WINBIND_NOT_AVAILABLE
could not obtain winbind domain name!
checking the trust secret for domain (null) via RPC calls failed
failed to call wbcCheckTrustCredentials: WBC_ERR_WINBIND_NOT_AVAILABLE
Could not check secret

* I am able to connect to my AD using the LDAP interface

Thank you for any help you can offer.

some additional info:

also: even when I successfully connect to my AD using LDAP I never see the users or groups expected in the permission pane.
It seems the backend services like winbindd are crashing.

I have been able to integrate other colocated VMs such as vCenter with my AD

Has anyone had success integrating TrueNAS-12.0-U3.1 with AD?

I'm having the same problem, couldn't find a solution yet. After each restart I need to disable and reenable AD :-/
