Truenas core in Truenas jail?

I have my main Truenas core system on one subnet, which contains my main data set, and a second Truenas core system on a separate subnet that contains a small, lightly-used data set that I share with my spouse. Both systems are installed on physical equipment.

It's somewhat annoying that I am tying up a computer and paying for electricity running the second system just to maintain a small data set that is accessed perhaps once a week, and which I have on a separate subnet for purposes of isolation and security. Recently I have been wondering whether I can simply install a second instance of Truenas core in a jail on my main Truenas core system, and give it its own network adapter and IP address on the separate subnet. I have never used jails, and I'm wondering if anyone knows how simple this would be. If it's complicated, then I'm not going to do it. I'm only paying about $30 a year in electricity costs to maintain the separate physical machine for the second system, and I don't want to give myself headaches messing around with a complicated setup to save $30. Thoughts, anyone?
