Hi guys,

I tried to find a solution about my subject but maybe my search wasn't so good! :)

I have a TrueNAS-13.0-U4 with Pool01 and inside of it Dataset01, I'd like to have on the same Dataset different directories with different rights, in my past I set a Samba share on Debian where I did something like /home/sambashare where I had /home/sambashare/everyone and /home/sambashare/user01 or /home/sambashare/user02 etc.

I don't know if I should create different Datasets for every users like /mnt/DatasetXX or if I should create /mnt/Dataset01/DatasetXX and most important I don't remember if I should create unix users for every shares or, like what happen with virtual users on Vsftp, if I can create just one unix user and many smb users.

I'm new on the TrueNAS world but I'm not new on the Unix like world so I use PfSense 2.6.0, FreeBSD 13, Debian Bullseye\Bookworms etc. but I don't understand how could I do what I need with a gui! LOL! :D

Regards.

I solved the problem by myself:

1) Sharing
2) Windows Share (SMB)
3) I choose a share like /mnt/Pool01/Dataset01/User01
4) I select the three dots on the right
5) Edit Filesystem ACL
6) In the "Select an ACL preset" area I switched from "Open" to "Restricted"

I did what I wrote above for every directories in the same Dataset as:
/mnt/Pool01/Dataset01/User01
/mnt/Pool01/Dataset01/User02
/mnt/Pool01/Dataset01/User03

I'm sorry for my "basic" request! :)
