PROBLEM:

After installing a fresh install of Syncthing using 'advanced' setting config directives, upon reboot of my TrueNAS 12RC1, all services start nominally except for the TrueNAS GUI which displays the following error on the webpage:

Connecting to TrueNAS ... Make sure the TrueNAS system is powered on and connected to the network.

QUESTIONS:

From the console shell, how do I go about....
  • ...deleting the Syncthing install to see if that clears the problem? or;
  • ...shutting down plugins followed by a restart the TrueNAS GUI? ; and
  • ...identifying process names related to the GUI so as to help me find clues in /var/log?

UPDATE:

While I was installing Syncthing, I also configured TrueNAS 12.0-RC1 /System/General/"HTTPS Protocols" to disable TLSv1.2 and allow TLSv1.3 only. Upon reboot, that is what is causing the error:

"Connecting to TrueNAS ... Make sure the TrueNAS system is powered on and connected to the network".

Re-enabling TLSv1.2 allows me access to the WebUI console again and I've posted my observation (above) to the 12.0 feature support ticket for TLSv1.3 -- see NAS-103357
