TrueNAS 12.0 not visible on network after upgrade from FreeNAS

I've upgraded my perfectly working FreeNAS 11.3 (latest stable) to TrueNas 12.0 (latest stable) and the upgrade process went smoothly. However, after the upgrade I seem to have strange issues with mDNS. My macbooks (latest Catalina) can't resolve and ping my `nas.local` system anymore, and they can't see any 'network disks' (SMB shares) in Time Machine settings anymore. However, they can see the nas in the 'Network' tab of the Finder and they can even browse the shares there.

I've tried changing the TrueNAS name, enabling/disabling IPv6, multiple various options of SMB service (enabling/disabling v1 protocol and so on), and I just can't fix it. What else can I look in debugging this issue? TrueNAS logs (dmesg, syslog) are pretty clean and do not indicate any issues, as far as I can see.

Checking netBIOS-NS in > Network > Global Configuration solved a similar problem
