Truecharts mosquitto connect vm

Hello,

if this is the wrong thread please move it to the right place.


I have installed mosquitto from the truecharts and added a user.
From my pc the connection to the mosquitto ip 192.168.178.200:1883 work without a problem.
Only from the vm where homeassistant is running the connection to the ip/mosquitto doesen't work.
The ping from the vm to the host work.
Have somebody an idea where the problem is?

What you've shared so far implies that you're running a bridge for the VM.

How have you set your "route v4 Interface" (under Apps | Settings | Advanced Settings)?

Also, if you're running a VM for HA, why would you not be using the HA add-on for Mosquitto?

in the future I will use the homeassistant app. For this I'm try to switch zigbee2mqtt, zwavejsui and the mosquitto broker to truenas scale.

You need to set the Interface to the same bridge that your VM is on and the gateway to your router on that network.

You will need to restart the apps after doing that.

Set it to br01 or en01.

Set it to br1 as you sayed, but doesen't work

Can you still connect to the mosquitto app from your PC?

yes from the pc it's still working

tryed no en1, en2 and br1 nothink work, only with the pc I can connact anytime

I don't use any Scale apps or TrueCharts, but I think an external service was needed to connect a VM to TrueCharts apps in the past.

Here's an old video on the subject, but given all the changes they've implemented, I wouldn't be surprised if it's outdated by now.

I already was on the discord. There they saied, this is an unsupported feature.
