Well updated via the GUI from 2.8.2 and the start/stop button in the GUI is broken. I can start and stop the jail from the CLI no problem just not from the GUI. Any idea on how to fix that or is it just less trouble to blow the jail away and start over?

Not sure, when this happened to me I did the steps from here

But, since your coming from a really old version (I'm guessing you mean 2.82 not 2.8.2) you might also need to move your data-directory from /usr/pbi/transmission-amd64/etc/transmission/home to /var/db/transmission
Might just be cleaner to fresh install to a new jail if you don't care about your current torrents/settings.

Just updated from 2.84_2 to 2.90, restarted the jail, launched the plugin, waited 2 minutes, some F5 and it's going with no apparent problem :)

GUI upgrade did not work but I think it is because I upgraded an old jail a while back to 2.84.

I installed a new version and seems to work good.

Is there a timetable on a 2.92 release of the plugin? I updated to 2.90 and now I'm locked out of a tracker I use because they blacklisted it as a precaution/end all way to let users know to not use that version.

If the bsd port is upgraded you can always install the port instead.. If not maybe downgrade.. I think it might be heavy handed to block every transmission client and not just mac ones..

How do I downgrade in the UI? I'd rather not port if that means I have to build a new jail or something as I have a large number of files that'd I'd have to redownload the torrents to seed again.

I agree it's heavy handed and I asked if that blacklist would be repealed and they gave me a hard no.

when trackers banned my transmission 2.9, all i had to do was show financial proof that I'm broke....to render ransom ware useless...trololol

The exploit only applies to transmission on a mac .. Nothing to worry about here BSD wise!

Well gave up on this after several attempts to re install the plugin. I seem to have the "unable to create template" bug and I can't install any plugins now so I just saved my database and installed it in a standard jail and copied the database contents into the new installation. All is good now and it should be easier to keep it up to date. Thanks for the tip on the database location.
