As a noob to FreeNAS, FreeBSD, SSH (putty), tmux, etc.... it's pretty daunting.
The steep learning curve certainly has the potential to deter people like myself from FreeNAS.
However a combination of persistence, and the extremely generous assistance and advice from other forum members (to the point of 'hand-holding' at times) is seeing me through.
I get a big feeling of accomplishment each time I manage to successfully complete even a small step in the process, learning something new along the way.
So to all those on this forum who have assisted me, and others, through this daunting potential minefield....
THANK YOU.
I hope that one day I can 'pay it forward' to others. At least as a noob I am learning what resources and tips have been of particular use to me (hail Fester!) and the particular problems that I had and overcame. This, at least, I can pass on to others.
