Can anyone tell me if the T520-CR is supported in 9.1.0? The BIOS sees the card but FreeNAS doesn't seem to.

Thanks

The underlying operating system in FreeNAS 9.1.0 was based on FreeBSD 9-STABLE,
so if you look for the BSD version hardware compatibility listings from that version
you can check to see if the NIC was supported in FreeNAS at that time.

I checked the list and only found the T3 chipset cards as the only Chelsio supported, sorry!

Hey the good news is the T3 NICs are very cheap and they work pretty darn good. ;)

I honestly don't know! But if your server is in production and you can't or don't need to upgrade,
I would buy a T3 card or two and try them out. The alternative is to update the version of
FreeNAS to a version that supports the T520 and that 9.x.x version timeline may introduce some instability
within other areas. Maybe not the best tradeoff...
Is there a particular reason you are way back on version 9.1.0?

No real good reason other than it is a production box. I have a new box built with 11 and I am almost ready to transfer everything. I was just hoping to do it at 10 GB rather than 1 (or less).

I have this unfounded fear of upgrading the FreeNAS version from 9.1 to 11 I suppose.

Looks like FreeBSD 10.1 is the earliest it was supported. What version of FreeNAS does that correspond to?
9.10.1?

Anyway FreeNAS 11 is based on FreeBSD 11.

OK. So it turns out my EXSi (5.1) also doesn't work with the T520-CR cards that I got. ughhh

So I got a few S320E cards (per @BigDave) just for the transfer. I figure I can always sell them on.

Apparently I have an aversion to upgrading... lol

None. FreeNAS 9.10 has always used 10.3.
